Troubleshooting, problem-solving and putting a client’s mind at ease are some of the things Melissa enjoys most about her role at Peridot. From solving tax problems for clients to helping them to better understand how to use QuickBooks, creating viable solutions is what drives Melissa – day in and day out. 

 

As a Peridot shareholder, Melissa oversees the internal management of the firm and has been doing business and tax consulting in Asheville since 2002 and has been a practicing Certified Public Accountant since 2009. She’s also a Quickbooks Certified ProAdvisor which enables her to provide calculated insights to drive small businesses forward. 

 

Melissa has a strategic view related to tax, and long-term financial goals for individuals and businesses. She says her ability to explain complicated financial matters to clients in layman's terms is key to her successful and clear communication. 

 

She’s a member of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and skillfully balances homeschooling her 12-year-old son with her busy financial career. She also has fun with astrology and sometimes finds that it helps her to better understand client workstyles and personalities.
